Music by CJ Camerieri featuring Jake Luppen (Lupin/Hippo Campus), Shara Nova (My Brightest Diamond) and Trever Hagen Co-presented with First Avenue
CARM is the self-titled debut solo record by NYC-based multi-instrumentalist CJ Camerieri (Paul Simon, Bon Iver, yMusic), set to release during The Great Northern. The project was conceived and recorded in Minneapolis by Camerieri and hometown producer Ryan Olson who were joined by local artists Justin Vernon, Jake Luppen, Trever Hagen, Chris Bierden, and many others. The music began in February of 2017 next to a few space heaters in the middle of the night and grew to include artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Shara Nova, Ira Kaplan and Georgia Hubley of Yo La Tengo, and Berlin based duo Mouse on Mars. Truly a record that seeks to capture a community of musicians, this debut performance returns the project to it’s time and place of conception.
Evening includes 30-40 minutes of duo versions of the music with trumpeters Camerieri and Hagen, joined by vocalists Luppen and Nova. After the performance, Camerieri will discuss and highlight the community of local musicians involved in the project and how the music took shape. This event will be available on-demand until 11:59 PM CT on February 7, 2021
