Honoring the 100th anniversary of the birth of Wes Montgomery, guitarist Mimi Fox presents a new project featuring original pieces & finely crafted arrangements of Montgomery's famous compositions. After touring/recording with organ masters such as the late Joey DeFrancesco and Barbara Dennerlein, Mimi imbues the iconic B3 sound with dazzling virtuosity in a show that runs the gamut from blues/funk to ballads & bebop. Joining Mimi in the Trio are Brian Ho on Hammond B3 organ and Lorca Hart on drums. Born in NYC, Fox started playing drums at nine and guitar when she was ten. When she was fourteen, she bought her first jazz album, 'John Coltrane's Giant Steps' and the music changed the course of her life. Mimi began touring out of high school and eventually settled in the San Francisco Bay Area where she became a sought-after player. Mimi has released 12 CDs as a leader including the acclaimed solo guitar album 'This Bird Still Flies' which received a 4-star review Downbeat Magazine.
Mimi has been hailed by Guitar Player Magazine as "a prodigious talent who has not only mastered the traditional forms but reinvigorated them." The internationally acclaimed guitarist and composer has been highly ranked on six consecutive DownBeat Magazine International Critic's Polls.
